☀️ A clock that runs without batteries ✨
Well, it runs if there’s sun. 😅 This is one of those projects we love: geometry, maths and art in a single afternoon, with the little ones learning without noticing.
We built ours on a round cake board: 28.8 cm across, with 12 sections of 7.5 cm to space out the hours. Then we decorated it with Allsurf markers by Miluma. Our sun has a face, so does the moon, and there’s a cloud or two floating about. 🌙
What you need
- A sturdy round cardboard base (a cake board works perfectly)
- Allsurf acrylic markers by Miluma
- A stick or a straw to act as the pointer (the gnomon)
- A Pryse hot glue gun by Miluma to fix it in place
And that’s it: out to the balcony, the garden or the terrace, pointing north, and watch the shadow walk around the hours. We stood there staring at it for a good while, honestly. ⏱️
